A Hugely Successful First Members Assessment Day

Saturday 24th February saw the GoPC’s first ‘open to industry’ members assessment day. And we have to say it was a fantastic success! It was the culmination of well over a year’s worth of painstaking planning and preparation. And we had no idea how high the standards of our first batch of candidates would be. With four successful membership passes we were genuinely overwhelmed by the incredible performances, and it was clear that all candidates had prepared and studied very well for the challenge ahead.

On a frosty but bright day, we assembled early at the GoPC’s assessment location in Bicester, Oxfordshire, provided generously by Parkers European.

Three of the the Guild’s assessors, Andy Dubberley, Alan Whitehall and Steve Sommerfeld braced themselves for the day ahead, and the inaugural members intake process.

The bar is set very high for the membership process, as we all agreed that the Guild should be the industry’s benchmark for quality and professional abilities. Indeed we wondered if any of the candidates for the first assessment day would pass at all. We were amazed at 4 very talented gents who displayed outstanding qualities and passed first time, and a 5th who missed the pass mark by the narrowest of margins.

Huge congratulations to Gary Dodd, Andy Giddings, Jez Moore and Dave Hunt for passing first time, and becoming the GoPC’s very first official full members (Gary Dodd pictured above, member 0001).

We are very proud to have you as members, and no doubt you will all be excellent ambassadors for the Guild going forward. We received very warm and complimentary feedback from all the candidates, who although nervous enjoyed the day immensely.

Future assessment dates will be released shortly, with the next being towards the end of March 2018. For more information, email us: [email protected]
